Paris, Friday, 31 January 2025.
Global leaders at Hyvolution Money Talks in Paris focus on investment strategies to boost hydrogen projects. Taiwan’s Hydrogen Partnership takes centre stage, highlighting financial mechanisms shaping the industry’s future. Exciting times for green energy!

Global Gathering Impact

I’m excited to report from the heart of Paris, where the Hyvolution event has just wrapped up its 8th edition at Porte de Versailles [1]. With more than 91 countries now having adopted national hydrogen strategies, representing an impressive 99% of global GDP [5], this gathering couldn’t have come at a more crucial time. The event showcased 600 exhibitors and brands, demonstrating the incredible momentum in the hydrogen sector [2].

Taiwan’s Breakthrough Partnerships

A standout development I witnessed was the Taiwan Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Partnership’s (THFCP) strategic moves. They’ve just signed significant MOUs with Ukraine, France, Poland, and Denmark [6]. What makes this particularly impressive is that Taiwan manufactures over 90% of crucial hydrogen fuel cell components [6]. Their CEO, Lin Jo-chen, presented at the Money Talks session, sharing insights about their comprehensive approach to hydrogen development [1].

French Market Leadership

The French hydrogen sector is showing remarkable growth potential. Currently generating €2.4 billion in revenue, the industry is targeting an ambitious €32 billion within the next decade [2]. I find it particularly noteworthy that France is aiming to have 70,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles on its roads by 2030 [2]. As one participant, Silke Frank, aptly noted, ‘France is one of the locomotives in the EU’ when it comes to hydrogen development [2].

Future Outlook

The enthusiasm for hydrogen’s future was palpable throughout the event. Raphaël Goerens, Director of Hyvolution Paris, highlighted how we’re witnessing ‘an irreversible movement that is reshaping the global energy landscape’ [5]. With the United States and China significantly ramping up their investments, Europe is entering a decisive phase in its hydrogen development [5]. The next Hyvolution event is already scheduled for January 27-29, 2026 [2], promising to build on this year’s success.
